چکیده

A stay-green phenotype is useful for adaptation of wheat to end-of-season drought conditions. We identified quantitative trait loci (QTL) traits, as well height, days anthesis and yield, in a multi-reference nested association mapping (MR-NAM) population (Triticum aestivum L.) two environments differing degree stress experienced post-anthesis. The MR-NAM consisted three inter-related populations developed by nesting 11 diverse donors within common reference parents, adapted the northern, southern western cropping regions Australia, respectively. construction enables assessment effect on multiple alleles at any particular locus, different genetic backgrounds, facilitates concurrent QTL germplasm development. This approach enabled identification parent-specific context dependent expression. Using new statistical method specifically identify populations, we 65 traits. Co-location was observed between (i) associations some (ii) environments, (iii) plant height grain yield. Some co-located with those other studies however, others are likely novel. Genetic markers associated can be applied breeding enrich traits early generations selection, prior field testing yield plots, development cultivars targeted drought-stressed environments. information important breeders, because it sources most promising specific backgrounds growing

Favorable QTL Alleles for Yield and Its Components Identified by Association Mapping in Chinese Upland Cotton Cultivars

Linkage disequilibrium based association mapping is a powerful tool for dissecting the genetic basis underlying complex traits. In this study, an association mapping panel consisting of 356 representative Upland cotton cultivars was constructed, evaluated in three environments and genotyped using 381 SSRs to detect molecular markers associated with lint yield and its components. The results sho...

Yield-related salinity tolerance traits identified in a nested association mapping (NAM) population of wild barley

Producing sufficient food for nine billion people by 2050 will be constrained by soil salinity, especially in irrigated systems. To improve crop yield, greater understanding of the genetic control of traits contributing to salinity tolerance in the field is needed. Here, we exploit natural variation in exotic germplasm by taking a genome-wide association approach to a new nested association map...

QTL Analysis and Nested Association Mapping for Adult Plant Resistance to Powdery Mildew in Two Bread Wheat Populations

CIMMYT wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) lines Francolin#1 and Quaiu#3 displayed effective and stable adult plant resistance (APR) to Chinese Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici isolates in the field. To elucidate their genetic basis of resistance, two recombinant inbred line (RIL) populations of their crosses with Avocet, the susceptible parent, were phenotyped in Zhengzhou and Shangqiu in the 2014-20...

QTL Detection and Elite Alleles Mining for Stigma Traits in Oryza sativa by Association Mapping

Stigma traits are very important for hybrid seed production in Oryza sativa, which is a self-pollinated crop; however, the genetic mechanism controlling the traits is poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the phenotypic data of 227 accessions across 2 years and assessed their genotypic variation with 249 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. By combining phenotypic and genotypic dat...

Gene mapping in white spruce (P. glauca): QTL and association studies integrating population and expression data

Background Connecting phenotype with genotype is the basis for developing forest genetic applications such as marker assisted selection (MAS). Quantitative Trait Locus (QTL) mapping and genetic association mapping (or linkage disequilibrium (LD) are two major approaches to find genes that control phenotypes of interest in forest trees. Quantitative trait loci (QTL) and association mapping exper...
